Cyberpunk 2077 Update Adds New Arcade Games

Cyberpunk 2077's latest version 2.0 update adds two new arcade machines, joining Roach Race added last year. Now, we can also play through Trauma Drama, as well as Arasaka Tower 3D - a boomer shooter very clearly inspired by Doom.

Like Roach Race, these can be played whenever you want, as long as you can track down the arcade cabinets. Having explored a bit of Night City ourselves, Trauma Drama is definitely the easier one to find, as there's even one in the Kabuki market early on in the game that you can play through. Arasaka Tower 3D, being the more expansive game, is a little harder to find, as there might only be one copy lying around the entire city.

Trauma Drama plays out like a good 'ol retro platformer, seeing you play as a Trauma Team worker taking out enemies and collecting your patients. Much like the Trauma Team members we see in the game, you have to be ruthless, brutally forcing your way past anyone who stands between you and the client. Because they've paid for your services after all - none of these other characters have.

Arasaka Tower 3D, however, has emerged as a clear favourite, and it's easy to see why. Not only does it let us play as Johnny Silverhand yet again (albeit in a very, very different format), it's just like playing an old Doom mod. Plus, it's a great bit of worldbuilding that Johnny's anti-establishment act of violence was later commodified; sold as part of a game that removes it entirely from his ideology and strips it of any meaning. Coupled with the fact that the attack didn't really accomplish anything in the first place, that's got to sting a little.
