CD Projekt Group revealed its selected Q3 2023 financial results and announced that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has sold 4.3 million copies. The expansion launched on September 26th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, selling three million copies in its first week.
The company also estimated a 20 percent attachment ratio, which means the number of units sold relative to the base game. Cyberpunk 2077 topped 25 million units as of October 5th, with CD Projekt RED spending nearly $41 million on post-launch updates, including the massive Update 2.0 (head here for our thoughts).
Phantom Liberty is the first and only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, with the development team moving on to Project Orion, the sequel. Not much is known about the latter, except that it’s being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and has a “lot of work to be done,” but CD Projekt confirmed it was in the “conceptual design” stage in October. Stay tuned for more details and check out our review for the expansion here.
