OnePokemon player created this type of artwork for their friend by pulling from the franchise's TCG for inspiration.
A Reddit user named emberthread shared images of custom Pokemon cards they made for their friend that are quilted and embroidered. The cards feature the Pokemon Shinx, Eldegoss, and Luvdisc, with the former two being based on TCG artwork that the artist's friend likes. The Luvdisc piece was made for Valentine's Day and features the pocket monster's Shiny form along with the words «You're 1 in 8,192,» which is a reference to the chances that gamers have of running into a critter's alternate coloring. Emberthread stated that they and their friend would mail each other postcards and that they had decided they would start making them quilted pieces.
A number of Reddit commenters have chimed in letting emberthread know that they find the Pokemon quilted postcards to be cute and adorable. One fan stated that they loved the works and that the artist should do commissions. When asked how the pieces were made, emberthread said that they used Steam-A-Seam to create a base for the Shinx and Eldegoss cards, which were then hand embroidered. The Luvdisc card was an original design made using foundation paper before being sewn in.
