Apple is rumored to use a display on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with the thinnest bezels ever, measuring just 0.06 inches. However, according to a tipster, it will not be long before that record is surpassed by a display manufacturer called ChinaStar, who is said to begin mass production of a panel with bezels measuring a razor-thin 1mm.
With a bezel measuring an unworldly 1mm, it is difficult to wrap our heads around how the manufacturer will achieve this. It is strange hearing the name ‘ChinaStar’ for the first time, but it is a display manufacturer that is actually owned by TCL. During CES 2023, TCL showcased a tablet prototype featuring a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio. Though we did not hear anything about the product arriving on the market, it is clear that TCL wants to set the stage for future products with crisp-thin bezels.
The update was shared on Twitter by Ice Universe, stating that the 1mm bezels will beat the 1.55mm bezels expected to be touted by the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The difference is a 64 percent reduction in bezels, with the current record held by the Xiaomi 13, an Android flagship that has a display with bezels measuring 1.81mm. Though Ice Universe does not mention which upcoming smartphone model will sport those 1mm bezels, we can make an educated guess based on previous releases.
Good news!China star will mass-produce 1mm extremely narrow bezel screen,The four bezel are all 1mm, which will surpass the record of 1.55mm of iPhone 15 pro. I probably already know which phone it is used for. I am looking forward to it! Guess which mobile phone will be…
