Cheer: Jerry Harris Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison
Jerry Harris from Netflix's Cheer was just sentenced to 12 years behind bars. The fan-favorite of the series shocked viewers when he was arrested on child pornography charges. Viewers were appalled by the news, and it solidified that he would not be returning to the series.
Jerry has been getting screentime on the hit Netflix series but for all the wrong reasons. Before Cheer season 2 was released, fans learned that Jerry had been accused of sending explicit messages to underage boys who were also cheerleaders and looked up to him. Fans were shocked but soon started to realize that there may have been red flags that were missed. Netflix fans originally fell in love with Cheer's Jerry thanks to his signature mat talk. The loud cheering was an integral part of the Navarro Bulldogs squad's routines.

This week, news broke viaYahoo that Jerry had been sentenced to 12 years in prison. The 22-year-old was sentenced after being found guilty of sexual offenses against minors. The cheerleader was said to have persuaded a 17-year-old to send explicit photos of himself to the reality star. After his time behind bars, Jerry will also have to complete eight years of court-supervised release. In February 2022, Jerry pleaded guilty to charges that revolved around two underage teens.
At the time, Jerry admitted to the court that he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy at a cheer competition during an altercation in the restroom. Jerry also revealed that he paid a 17-year-old to send him sexual pictures through Snapchat. Cheer viewers learned in September 2020 that the FBI had started to investigate Jerry for allegedly soliciting sexually explicit pictures
