The Santa Clauses casts Pretty Woman star Laura San Giacomo in a significant role. Released in 1994, The Santa Clause stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, an ordinary businessman recruited as Santa Claus after an accident on Christmas Eve. Hailed as a staple Christmas movie, the family-friendly film spawned two sequel films,The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. Earlier this year, Disney+ announced Allen would don his Kris Kringle attire once more for The Santa Clauses, a continuation series to the original trilogy. Recently, it was announced that David Krumholtz would return as Bernard the Elf in The Santa Clauses.
Now, it appears the North Pole is expanding its list of residents. Per Deadline, Giacomo joins The Santa Clauses as La Befana, the Christmas Witch. Derived from Italian folklore, La Befana resides in the Wobbly Woods of the North Pole and is known for delivering gifts to well-mannered children on the morning of the Epiphany. Giacomo as the Christmas Witch is the most recent new cast member to join the series that will follow Scott (Allen) as he attempts to find a suitable replacement to take his place as Santa.
