Hello all,
I'm having a charging issue and a USB hub issue. I bought my wife a PS5 in December, plus two custom PS5 Aimcontrollers. One controller was used for 2 months without issue, the other sat in a drawer 2 months waiting on button stickers so she knows which button is which. When I finally got around to using it this month, the initial charge took 10-12 hours. Yellow light blinked the whole time indicating it was charging. I tried using MY Aimcontroller braided cable connected to MY USB port and it charged in 3 hours. I contacted Aimcontrollers and they sent me a new braided cable as we both assumed it was faulty. I just drained down her controller and it appears to have the same issue with HER new cable, on HER USB port. I'm using both USB's on the rear of the PS5 only. Settings/Energy saver is set to supply power «always». The controller shows the normal blinking yellow light like it is charging in rest mode while connected to her rear USB......but when 3 hours passed today it still had no bars, and with cable removed it showed «low battery» on the screen. I just switched her new cable to MY USB port to verify that maybe it's the USB port. If that doesn't do anything in 3 hours, I'll switch the cables and use MY cable on her USB to verify they send me another faulty cable. In the meanwhile....... I plan on hooking up a PS5 friendly headphone amp to this thing and read USB hubs work fine on the PS5. I ordered an Insignia powered USB 3.0 hub from Best Buy and tried connecting her controller to it on both rear USB ports to see if the powered hub itself would charge the controller and when entering into rest mode, it stopped charging the controller entirely. Without the hub, connected directly to the rear USB, it
