Officially set to release on May 26, it now turns out Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League might not see the light of day for another year. Spawning from the Batman: Arkham series of action-adventure video games, Suicide Squad could be delayed much longer than previously reported.
Fans have been waiting for a Suicide Squad video game since at least 2010, when Geoff Johns, the then-Chief Creative Officer for DC Comics, announced one was in the works. This project, however, had been shelved by 2016, and it wasn’t until late 2020 that Rocksteady Studios announced that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was being developed.
Suicide Squad Includes Controversial Requirement, Even for Solo Players
Although still officially set for release on May 26, it was reported that the release date for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was being pushed back into the second half of 2023. But now it seems that the long-awaited Suicide Squad video game will not be released until 2024. Or, at the very least, this is what’s being reported by Jeff Grubb on his Game Mess Decides podcast. «Listen, I don't want to like, cause a panic or anything, but I heard it's not even coming this year,» Grubb claims on his podcast, further stating, «I'm hearing 2024.»
While Grubb himself admits “this stuff is hard to nail down for sure,” he also stated that his source “has always been a very good one” in a show of confidence in their credibility. If Grubb’s reports are true, this would mean that the latest delay to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s release would push the date much further back than previously reported. The report will certainly not please the many fans who have been expecting the release of the long-awaited Suicide Squad video
