Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Unlikely To Remove Live-Service Elements
New reports have surfaced claiming that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League won't see any significant changes despite the negative fan reaction to the latest trailer and reports of a lengthy delay.
The reaction to the first real gameplay footage of Suicide Squad wasn't exactly positive. The trailer revealed at Sony's State of Play last month was quickly ratio'd, with players complaining of a game that suddenly seemed less like a DC-themed beat-'em-up and more like a generic shooter, with even Captain Boomerang firing off guns rather than using his titular boomerang. It didn't help that fans spotted plenty of live service elements, such as a battle pass and an in-game cosmetics store.

Soon after the trailer, rumors began swirling that Suicide Squad would be delayed past its May release date. First it was Jez Cordon and Jason Schreier saying it would be Q4 2023, then it was Jeff Grubb saying not to expect Suicide Squad until next year. Schreier returned with an update yesterday stating Rocksteady still doesn't have a new release date and not to expect any significant changes to the "core game" despite the negative fan reaction.
"Rocksteady has not yet announced the Suicide Squad delay, perhaps because there's still no new date. Staff were told a few weeks ago it's coming later this year but they still don't know when," wrote Schreier. "Possible it slips to 2024, but one thing seems certain: The core game isn't changing."
VGC's Andy Robinson backed up Schreier's reporting, saying in yesterday's podcast that developer Rocksteady seems confident in what they've built for Suicide Squad even if nobody else seems to be.
