Yesterday, Blue Protocol’s technical test concluded, and Amazon and Bandai Namco Online are thanking testers for their time and hinting at some of what’s next.
This latest closed technical test was designed to help the teams test server infrastructure, including matchmaking via the megaserver technology. For players, they could test out character customization, mounts, crafting, and the first chapter of the main story in fully-voiced and localized in English. While it’s all under a strict NDA, we can glean a little info fromthe new post.
Amazon Games’ Mike Zadorojny thanked everyone and said, “While you were playing the game we were able to validate the work the Infrastructure Team has done to support players from around the Western territories and unlock the ability for all of them to play together”.
Executive Producer Sokichi Shimooka also shared gratitude for the testers that helped with data on server infrastructure. “We will work with our team to take the next step to make your BLUE PROTOCOL journey even more enjoyable. Please look forward to the next news.”
As for what’s next, we did get the tiniest of hints.
“When we next open the servers, we look forward to hosting a larger event that includes updates from the Japanese live environment,” it reads.
Now, the Japanese version is live and running, but with data from a global megaserver and certainly some changes ahead for the Western release, it will likely be too difficult to guess what they mean from that vague description. Yet, it does seem that they’re going to continue testing and making changes based on the info collected. Anyone interested can apply on the Blue Protocol site for further play tests, although when those might happen will be announced.
