Nintendo has rolled out the very first Super Mario RPG update, addressing several progression issues on the Nintendo Switch.
Following the game's re-release on the Switch last month, this is the first patch for the game, updating the game version to 1.0.1. As said, this update resolves various issues related to game progression, including a fix for an issue where, after the event where you encounter Paratroopas in Monstro Town, game progression would sometimes be blocked because the Paratroopas would not appear at Land's End. Additionally, this update addresses an issue in Bowser's Keep that prevented players from entering doors on some occasions. We suggest reading the full release notes for this update here. Also, this update contains a fix for an issue, where, when using Thought Peek on Straw Head and Reacher, the messages were switched.
Super Mario RPG is available worldwide now for the Nintendo Switch.
Here's what we wrote about the Switch remake in our launch review last month: "Super Mario RPG is a lovingly-crafted remake that retains the original’s peculiar off-brand charm, appealing combat, and varied level design while subtly tinkering with numerous elements to make the game more palatable for modern players. The game can still be a bit too old-school for its own good at times, but any twinges of frustration pass quickly amid a steady stream of smile-inducing set pieces. Whether you’re new to Super Mario RPG or still own your original SNES cart, this experience will level up your Switch library."
