Still riding high from the positive reception to its recent Silent Hill 2 remake, developer Bloober Team is shifting its focus to the future. Unsurprisingly, Cronos: The New Dawn is a survival horror title, pulling from genre greats like Dead Space and Alan Wake, expected to launch on PS5 sometime in 2025.
Unveiled just last month, Cronos' game director Wojciech Piejk spoke to MP1st about the game, confirming it will «lean» towards Resident Evil and Dead Space in design. Specifically, Piejk highlighted Dead Space's limb-cutting and Alan Wake's flashlight-based combat as inspirations, teasing a unique battle mechanic in this vein to further «spice» things up but kept quiet on the specifics. Piejk said the game would also have a strong emphasis on story and atmospheric exploration, which are necessary parts of any good survival horror experience.
