Update: The Baldur's Gate 3 Update 5 patch notes are here, and this really is a monster. The headline acts include a brand new epilogue in which players can catch up with their party members six months after the events of the main game. Larian says this epilogue section features «some of the most complex writing in the game so far,» due to how reactive it all is to the actions that you've taken throughout the rest of the adventure. Wow!
Two new difficulty modes are also being added: Honour and Custom. Honour provides an even harder challenge both in and out of combat, revamping boss enemies with additional abilities. What's more, you won't be allowed to reload saves in this mode, meaning that every dice roll counts. Sounds rough.
Meanwhile, Custom will offer a range of difficulty settings that players can tweak to their liking. You can take a peek at said settings in the screenshot below:
We're far from finished, though. Another key improvement is the addition of a unified inventory screen that lets you manage everyone's items from one menu — even characters who aren't in your current party. Oh, and technical performance is being bolstered as well.
