I beat the goblin attack on the grove last night which was pretty tough. I had to restart at one point and swap out Astarion for Wyll as I needed Wyll and Gale for the spells as so much of the combat was more long range.
Lae’zel helped take out the spiders and any other enemies that made it on top with my character helping out with both. His dual wielding short sword/dagger is quite useful for some of those instances.
A 200+ hour twist is my favourite kind of twist. The quest seeking a dragon was both very cool and also very telling. And I was kind of powerless to do anything but go along with the fight. But also, I now kind of can't wait to give someone their long due comeuppance, and this kind of gives me the motivation to do it. I love how much grey area there is in all of the stories though, and it would be easy to argue and take the other characters side, I guess, but I am convinced, and no longer will I put up with it haha.

So, in my mind, the real reason a certain squidy dude does not like the big brain's influence, is that he himself has ambition to reach big brain levels of influence and he can't do that while the Elder Brain lives. His domination of Stelamane, his manipulation of Tav, and the fact that as Balduran he founded the city, but could not remain there long without his ambitions drawing him elsewhere, and the residue of those emotions kind of transfered so that the Emperor basically thinks he owns Baldur's Gate, hence his actions with Stelamane, using her as a puppet to continue his rule, almost as if it is his right to do so, as his former self founded it.
