Larian Studios’ highly anticipated Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game was originally released on Mac and Windows PC on Aug. 3 before it came to PlayStation 5 in early September. But an Xbox Series X version of Baldur’s Gate 3 was delayed because Larian Studios couldn’t get the game’s split-screen cooperative play mode working on Microsoft’s Xbox Series S, the lower spec Xbox console. Microsoft requires games to be the same on both current-generation consoles, but it appears to have made a concession for Baldur’s Gate 3. And it makes sense: Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of 2023’s best games, and Xbox — and its players — are missing out.
