Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the most popular games on Nexus Mods, with 80.8 million downloads at the time of writing. This puts it in the site's top ten, despite only fully launching last August, alongside the likes of Fallout 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
While Baldur's Gate 3 was being modded during its early access period, it only broke into the top ten for most downloads after its full release. It's already beaten every Dragon Age game for the honour, and with the game very much still enjoying its post-launch success, this number is likely to rise even further, perhaps even surpassing The Witcher 3, which is just ahead in ninth place.
You can check out the figures on Nexus Mods now when looking at all of the games that have mods on the website. If you sort them by download count, you can see that Baldur's Gate 3 is in tenth place. Unsurprisingly, first and second place are Skyrim Special Edition, and the original Skyrim respectively.
Half of the top ten is made up of Bethesda games (more than half if we include games published by Bethesda), so it's impressive to see Baldur's Gate 3 break onto the list so early. It's beating Bethesda's latest game, Starfield, by more than doubling its download count - although again, early access would have helped. Even if it didn't find its true success until 2023, it did get a three-year headstart.
