Baldur's Gate 3's Hotfix 4 fixes a handful of issues, including your companions sleeping in.

Update: Larian Studios has rolled back Hotfix 4 temporarily as the new build is causing crashes. Baldur's Gate 3 has been rolled back to Hotfix 3 for the time being. Anyone who has logged in and saved while Hotfix 4 has been live will be unable to load their save and play until Larian fixes the issues and rereleased Hotfix 4.
Due to a build error causing new crashes, we’ve rolled back Hotfix 4 for the time being. We'll re-release it as soon as we’ve fixed the cause. If you’ve saved since updating, you won’t be able to load those saves until we’ve re-published Hotfix 4. Sorry about the inconvenience.
Orignal Story: Baldur's Gate 3's latest update, Hotfix 4, has fixed a number of glitches and issues, including some very sleepy companions. This Hotfix comes as a prelude to Baldur's Gate 3's next big update, Patch 1, which is set to include over 1,000 fixes and changes across the entire game.

This hotfix aims to correct a handful of bugs that have caused players to either have faulty encounters or have their progress blocked by bugs. One of the bigger fixes is that players will no longer get stuck during Long-Rest because their companions won't wake up.
