Larian Studios seems to be teasing that Baldur's Gate 3 is going to be getting an extended epilogue as part of Patch 5, which is planned to release at some point this week.
At times, it seems that there's no way that Baldur's Gate 3 could possibly get any bigger than it currently is, but that apparently isn't the case. Larian has been teasing that the game's next patch, Patch 5, is going to add some surprises to the game, and it seems that one of those surprises is going to be some extended epilogue scenes.
As of the time of writing, Baldur's Gate 3's ending is surprisingly quick. Once you've beaten the main story, you say bye to your party, get a small moment with them, and then the credits roll, something that's bothered players since launch considering how attached they've gotten to these characters. It seems like that's going to be changed in Patch 5, however.
Over on Twitter, Larian shared an image of a dazzling-looking invite that asks players whether they want to attend Withers' Epilogue Party Extravaganza, which will apparently consist of reminiscing by the campfire, getting all dressed up, and, as explicitly stated by the invite, partying with whichever friends are still standing by the end of the game. It's not clear if Larian's invite should be taken seriously or not as the studio does like to have some fun with its community, but it certainly seems like Patch 5 is going to be adding some kind of final party to say goodbye to the characters.
Although this does seem a little goofy, it's worth noting that this is actually something that players have been wanting for some time now. Barely a month after the game launched, players were requesting that they get one last chance to talk to the party and celebrate
