Obsidian Entertainment has briefly mentioned the Avowed release date, but the mention was quickly scrubbed from existence.
We finally received a new trailer for Obsidian's upcoming action RPG during yesterday's Xbox Showcase. Unfortunately, we still haven't gotten a release date for the title, which has many suggesting that a delay is likely. Interestingly enough, however, the official blog post that accompanied that new trailer mentioned an actual release date for the title, but the mention has since been removed from existence. Luckily, a cached sample of the blog still mentions the planned release date - November 12, 2024. We've included a screenshot of the cached page below:
At the moment of writing, the blog post doesn't mention a release date at all. "The last few months at Obsidian Entertainment have been fast-paced and exciting", the edited blog now reads. "Since we saw you at the Xbox Developer Direct this past January, we’ve been busy with Avowed. Today, we’re thrilled to have revealed our first-ever story trailer at Xbox Games Showcase 2024, and to talk with you more about what we’ve shared."
Possibly, Avowed's Game Director mentioned an initially planned release date, but this date was changed around due to other Xbox titles releasing in the same time frame. Still, we're pretty sure that fans of Avowed will find this interesting.
Whether Avowed will indeed launch on November 12th remains to be seen, but at this point, we don't think that's likely.
Avowed was officially announced for Xbox and PC back in July of 2020. Down below we've included some additional info on the game:
