Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Origins Get Updates to Fix Windows 11 24H2 Compatibility Issues
After facing no small amount of criticism due to some of its games being negatively affected by Windows 11’s 24H2 update, Ubisoft has finally released updates for Assassin’s Creed Origins and Valhalla to fix the issue.
The update, clocking in at around 230 MB, pushes Assassin’s Creed Origins up to version 1.62, while the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update weighs in at around 500 MB, and pushes the game up to version 1.7.0. The updates for both games don’t add anything aside from fixing compatibility issues for the games with Windows 11 24H2.
Both titles have been facing quite a bit of complaints from PC players because of these compatibility issues, with players taking to the Steam’s reviews section to post negative reviews. The problem led to review bombing, getting bad enough that, earlier this month, the aggregate rating for Assassin’s Creed Origins had dropped down from “Very Positive” to “Mixed”.
Interestingly, other Ubisoft titles affected by these issues, which include Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars Outlaws, haven’t yet gotten similar updates to fix these issues. It is likely that Ubisoft is actively working on releasing the updates for these games as soon as possible, however.
Originally rolling out for Windows 11 back in November, the 24H2 update generally offered a performance upgrade for most games, depending on the user’s hardware. Some Ubisoft titles, however, were uniquely affected, causing crashes and severe performance drops.
