Arzette Is a New PS5, PS4 Sidescroller Inspired by the Infamous Zelda CD-i Games | Push Square
You’re no doubt familiar with the notoriously bad The Legend of Zelda games released for Philips’ ill-fated CD-i system. Despite being among the worst games ever released, their distinct look and style carry a distinct nugget of nostalgia for some – and that’s where Seedy Eye Software’s side-scrolling homage Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore comes in.
Due out later this year, the release is promising an interactive adventure that faithfully pays tribute to the early 90s era of multimedia. Perhaps most cool of all is that the developer has recruited voice talent like Jeffrey Rath and Bonnie Jean Wilbur, both of whom worked on those original Zelda games for the CD-i. Now that’s authenticity!
Honestly, there’s a lot to dislike about this current era of gaming, but we love that something like this is able to exist. We don’t know whether the game itself will be any good, but we think it’s great that it’s coming out all the same!
