How to Find the Familiar Journal Toy in Old Scholomance
wowhead.comThe Familiar Journal toy is a new toy added in Patch 10.1.5. This toy can be found in Old Scholomance, a version of the dungeon that's only recently become available again.
Getting to Old ScholomanceAs of Patch 10.1.5, it's possible to unlock Old Scholomance, gaining access to the old instance for long-lost recipes and transmog. We detail how to access the old version of the Scholomance dungeon here. In short, it requires at least one person in your party to have the Krastinov's Bag of Horrors toy, obtained from Doctor Theolen Krastinov, a rare spawn in the new Scholomance.
Familiar JournalThe Familiar Journal itself can be found in the Viewing Room of Old Scholomance, on a bookshelf near the mini-boss Marduk Blackpool. All you have to do is pick up the book, and the toy is yours! It's as simple as that. Using the journal performs an incomplete ritual. According to the flavor text, the journal is:
