Believe it or not, it's already time for a brand new Like a Dragon adventure — although this one's not your typical Yakuza title. In fact, it's probably the most out-there take on the franchise yet (PS3's Yakuza: Dead Souls aside).
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is another 'shorter' game — just like last 2023's Gaiden — starring the one and only Goro Majima. The Mad Dog himself is back in the lead role for the first time since Yakuza 0 (or Yakuza Kiwami 2 if you really want to get technical about it), and as the title implies, he's taking to the high seas aboard his very own pirate ship.
We had a lot of fun with this one, giving it a solid 7/10 in our Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii PS5 review. We described it as «a thoroughly enjoyable side game» and «a flamboyant distraction between mainline entries».

A little too much, some might say.

After playing a couple of the Yakuza games and enjoying them, I have had no desire to ever go back to them again.
This scoring 7s hasn't changed my mind.
I may try LAD one day seeing as that changed the formula up a bit.
Wish I was, but I spent too much to play MH Wilds on a new PC. I will buy this game some time this year though (probably after I finally beat Infinite Wealth)!
Love Yakuza/LAD and
