Following their acquisition of Subcreation, the developers of Archon have released an update on improvements made to the data aggregation website's layout and user experience, highlighting cleaner navigation and new options to remove blocks of descriptive text. They've also committed to implementing a list of other highly requested features such as linking to source logs, while issuing an open call for further user feedback.
The post also offers clearer context behind their recent acquisition of Subcreation, emphasizing that Alcaras who reached out to Archon about the partnership in response to an impending shut down on its former host network.
While this was relayed in the initial announcement from Alcaras, the wording gave some readers the impression that Archon had bought out a successful competitor, whereas it appears that Subcreation was already on the verge of ending regardless.
The platform Subcreation was running on was reaching end-of-life at the end of January so we had to work quickly to do as many improvements as we could before then.
Since Subcreation reached end-of-life and started pointing users over to Archon.gg, the level of response was overwhelming. While we worked hard with Alcaras to implement many of Subcreation's algorithms and features into Archon, we came up short in many ways.
That doesn’t sit well with us. So, over the past week, our team has worked hard to make the first round of improvements based on your impassioned feedback.
Thank you so much for all the constructive feedback, both through discussions on Discord, tweets to us, and emails sent to feedback@archon.gg.
