Apple has listed the eight games coming to Apple Arcade, including a ‘+’ version of Balatro.
‘+’ versions of games on Apple Arcade remove any monetisation present in the standard App Store versions of each game, be that an up-front price, in-game purchases or ads.
This should mean, then, that Apple Arcade subscribers will gain access to Balatro without having to pay for it on the App Store.
As well as Balatro+, three new Apple Arcade exclusives arrive on the service this month – NFL Retro Bowl 25, NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition and Apple Vision Pro title Puzzle Sculpt.
These are joined by ‘+’ versions of Monster Train, Food Truck Pup, Furistas Cat Cafe and Smash Hit.

It was announced earlier today that Balatro is coming to mobile on September 26, meaning the Apple Arcade version will be released on the same day.
VGC’s Balatro review called it “gaming’s best time thief since Vampire Survivors”.
“Balatro is an astonishingly addictive take on Poker that’s utterly impossible to put down,” we wrote. “Occasional difficulty spikes aside, it’s a piece of simplistic genius that we’ll keep on our Steam Deck forever.”
