This comes on the heels of reports last week that indicated that MJF is unhappy with his pay in AEW and that he was leaning towards inking a deal with WWE when his current contract expires. It's been stressed that Friedman's displeasure isn't a work or something he's doing in character. It reflects how he perceives he has been treated as older former WWE talent has been brought into the fold on bigger, more profitable deals.

An AEW source spoke to The Flagship Wrestling Podcast recently and described the backstage vibe as "chaotic" and "very frustrating," going on to note that "(e)very single one of us is pulling our hair out."
