AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door is less than a month away, and a recent report indicates that Hangman Adam Page vs. Okada will likely be added to the card within the next few weeks. Page is coming off of a loss to CM Punk at Double Or Nothing, and it doesn't sound like his next opponent will be any easier. Okada is set to defend the IWGP World Heavyweight title at NJPW's Dominion pay-per-view against Jay White on June 12 and is widely considered one of the best professional wrestlers in the world.
It's been a while since fans in the United States have had the opportunity to see Okada live and in person. He's been one of Japan's top performers for a long time, and his matches with Kenny Omega famously broke Dave Meltzer's star rating scale. On the flip side, the last time Page was in NJPW, he was mainly taking pins for Bullet Club. Hangman has developed into a top performer in AEW, however, and is still one of the most recognized wrestlers in the company despite the recent loss to CM Punk.

Fans know they'll be getting CM Punk against Hiroshi Tanahashi after the latter accepted the AEW World Champion's open challenge on the June 1 edition of Wednesday Night Dynamite. Meltzer spoke about another potential match on Wrestling Observer Radio. “The IWGP Title match won’t be able to be announced until the [Dynamite] show on the 15th in St. Louis 11 days before the [Forbidden Door] show."
