Adam Cole and the Undisputed Elite seemed poised to take over AEW ahead of the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, but that might be on hold for the time being as he's reportedly injured. He recently won the inaugural Owen Hart Memorial tournament at the Double Or Nothing event, and All Elite had taken to calling him the King Of Hearts on recent broadcasts. He'd been hanging around in the top five rankings for a while and was close enough to strike at CM Punk had an injury not knocked Punk out of action as well.
Given Cole's connection to NJPW and The Bullet Club, it seemed likely that he would be heavily involved in the build towards Forbidden Door. He still very well could be, but it doesn't sound like he'll be wrestling until the event itself. Cole's injury doesn't sound as severe as the one AEW's CM Punk is dealing with, but it could still keep him out of action for the next month or so.

Bryan Alvarez had injury updates on a handful of AEW wrestlers on the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, stating the following: "I was told that Danielson is out one to two weeks and probably no Cole until Forbidden Door. They're going to let him rest up." It's not clear at this juncture exactly what is ailing Cole, but he has been wrestling with heavy tape over his left shoulder and arm lately. This was clear during the later stages of the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's dealing with a shoulder injury.
The injury bug has swept through professional wrestling over the last week or so. Punk will be out of action for some time, while on the WWE side, Cody Rhodes could miss upwards of half a year with a torn pectoral muscle. Toss in
