A brand-new Pokémon Unite game mode will let players battle, collect and control a variety of wild Pokémon. The multiplayer online battle arena typically gives fans access to a powerful lineup of playable pocket monsters, including fan-favorites like Pikachu and Charizard. However, a recent Pokémon GO datamine unveiled a new wild Pokémon game mode, and now this new mode has been officially announced.
Developed by TiMi Studio Group, Pokémon Unite typically sees two teams of five players choose their Pokémon and compete to score more points than their rivals. The free-to-play title's primary game mode lets players score points by fighting and defeating wild Pokémon, taking down enemy players or scoring goals placed across the island. Defeating wild Pokémon usually just scores points, but defeating a Legendary Pokémon grants a useful buff to the team that beat it. Pokémon GO originally launched with a handful of iconic pocket monsters to control, and over time TiMi Studio Group has gradually expanded that roster. For example, a new Pokémon Unite update added Espeon recently added Eevee's psychic evolution to the MOBA's playable lineup.

An upcoming Pokémon Unite update, announced via Twitter, will add a unique new mode called Catch 'Em Battles. The original 4v4 experience will let players capture any wild Pokémon that they defeat, allowing them to then control the creature at any point. Catch 'Em Battles will greatly expand the MOBA's list of playable characters, and each wild pocket monster will have a host of unique abilities.
