It has been a few months since the last big Nintendo Direct, and while the Japanese company hasn't announced any showcase for the non-E3 time window, it seems like something is brewing and may happen sometime in July.
Speaking during the latest Giant Bomb's Bombcast, Jeff Grubb stated he has started hearing early rumblings of a Nintendo Direct of some king that should be happening next month. He has no idea if it will be a full-blown Nintendo Direct, a Direct Mini, or a partner showcase.
Some kind of Nintendo Direct during the month of July wouldn't exactly be surprising, as the Japanese company hosted a Direct Mini at the end of June 2022 to showcase titles from third-party developers such as the Switch port of NieR Automata, Sonic Frontiers, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Harvestella and more. So, while a full-blown Nintendo Direct seems unlikely, given what happened in the past few years, there's a good chance that Nintendo Switch owners will soon get a glimpse of games releasing in the future on the console.
As mentioned above, it has been a few months since the latest Nintendo Direct. For the February 2023 showcase, Nintendo pulled out the big guns, announcing Pikmin 4's final release date, Baten Kaitos 1 & 2 HD Remaster, a new entry in the Fantasy Life and Professor Layton franchises, and showing an intense Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom trailer. In case you have yet to get the latest entry in the series, you can learn more about it by checking out Nathan's review.
