I’m sure you’re already familiar with Supermassive Games’ The Dark Pictures Anthology by now. The Devil Within marks the last mainline installment for the first season of the games. Just like with the past games, the title puts players in control of a group of survivors trying to make it through their last night alive. In this storyline, we follow a group of filmmakers invited to explore a replica of the serial killer H.H. Holmes’ Murder Castle. However, upon arrival, they soon see that it’s a trap, and now they must fight for their lives. The entire game is all about making critical choices that will play a significant role in the potential survival of these characters. 

So, remember Left 4 Dead? Yeah, this isn’t that, at all. But they at least TRIED to make a 4-person co-op game set in an overrun world for you to play in with your friends. So…A for effort?

Long story short, an infection has caused the rise of beings known as The Ridden. Humanity is almost wiped out save for a small group of survivors. The game will have you descending into the Earth in order to try and find the source of the Ridden and wipe them out once and for all.
