By paying this flat fee at the beginning, fans will have all aspects of the game available to them, rather than behind additional paywalls. Although the new cost may be prohibitive to some players, the introductory price offers a lot, especially considering those who invested in the subscription services and Leaf Tickets.
At launch, Nintendo intends to keep the game at $9.99 USD as a window for long-time fans to hop on the new game and transfer their old data. Specifically, Nintendo calls it an “” on the app's About page. Nintendo has not specified why exactly it is reducing the prices for the first month, but it could be due to the fast transition, meaning that the first month of the game will be settling in with its functions and potential bugs.
Players will be able to transfer their data using their Nintendo account until June 1, 2025. Moreover, the original app will shut down on November 29.
