Earlier this year, Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker – former co-founders of Batman: Arkham developer Rocksteady Studios – announced that they had established a new AAA independent studio called Hundred Star Games. Now, it seems like the studio has taken a major step forward with its first project.
As per a report published by Exputer, Hundred Star Games has partnered with Microsoft for its first project, which is a AAA single-player action-adventure game. That means Xbox Game Studios will be publishing and financing the game- though whether or not it will be exclusive to Xbox and PC or if it’ll be a fully multiplatform game is unclear, especially given Microsoft’s new multiplatform-centric approach.
The report goes on to state that Hundred Star Games, which is headquartered in London, is developing its debut project on Unreal Engine 5. The studio has reportedly grown to roughly 100 employees, more than 20 of whom are former Rocksteady developers.
How long it’ll be before the partnership between Hundred Star and Xbox is officially announced, or how far along the studio’s first game is in production, remains to be seen.
