The success of The Last Of Us and the box office-busting numbers of The Super Mario Bros. Movie has got everyone talking about video game adaptations again. Those are bigger examples than usual, but video game shows and movies have been hitting more than they've been missing for a few years. That includes the most recent Mortal Kombat movie, and if there's going to be a sequel, WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes may well want in.
WrestleMania went down in Hollywood earlier this month. An event so big that WWE Superstars effectively call the host city home for a full week. It seems Rhodes didn't use all of that time to wrestle. According to Fightful Select (via 411Mania), The American Nightmare met with Hollywood executives in an attempt to jumpstart his movie career, and one of those meetings revolved around Rhodes potentially being cast in the role of Johnny Cage.

Notable in his absence from the last Mortal Kombat movie, fans of the fighting series have been discussing who might play him should Cage show up in a potential sequel ever since. Interestingly, Rhodes may face stiff competition from another WWE Superstar if he wants the role. Shortly after the newest movie was released, The Miz made his public pitch to Ed Boon on Twitter, and Boon appeared to approve. The former WWE Champion then followed up a year later, so it's clearly a project that's on his mind.
Although Miz and Rhodes have different looks, it's probably fair to say they would both suit the role of Cage. Casting a wrestler as a character who mostly has to fight also makes a lot of sense. As for which of the two would be better suited to play Cage, while The Miz has more acting experience,
