WrestleQuest developer Mega Cat Studios accidentally uploaded a trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit before quickly taking it down. It shows a new 2D pixel graphics spin-off in which we explore a rundown pizzeria where a murderous Springtrap, seemingly piloted by William Afton, hunts down any and all visitors.
While the trailer is now private, Reddit user ImAnthlon ripped a copy and uploaded it to the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit. It shows Springtrap gesturing for a young boy to come inside of an ominous doorway, the boy crawling through the vents and exploring each room, their dad being dragged into a ball pit, and the kid hiding inside a derelict animatronic suit while Springtrap looks for them.
There's a FNAF book called Into the Pit as well. It tells the story of Oswald, a fifth grader, discovering a ball pit at Jeff's Pizza that transports him back and forwards in time. In the past, he sees a man in a yellow rabbit costume, beckoning him towards a doorway which reveals several dead children in party hats. Much like in the trailer, the rabbit pulls Oswald's dad into the pit.
With the trailer leaked early, Scott Cawthon jumped onto the game's subreddit to address the accidental reveal. "No need to keep it all hush-hush," he replied to a post from the head moderator which announced a ban on all mention of leaks. "It's okay! Yes, I was trying to keep it a secret for a bit longer, but now that it's out, that's fine. This game has been in development for a really long time actually, and I'm really proud of the final product. It will be a 10th anniversary game!"
We don't know much else about the game, like what platforms it's launching on, when it's releasing, or when it will be properly announced, but given that it's being developed for the series' tenth anniversary, we can hazard a guess at when it'll arrive.
The first-ever Five Nights at Freddy's launched on August 8, 2014. Putting aside how disgusting it is that 2014 is now ten years ago, it's
