World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Removing Requirements for Flying in Old Zones

World of Warcraft is removing requirements for flying in several old zones in an upcoming Dragonflight patch. With this change, players will be able to fly in nearly every zone in World of Warcraft without any extra steps.

The Pathfinder achievements in World of Warcraft are time-consuming feats that require players to fully explore zones, defeat many rare spawns, and farm multiple reputations. When the achievement was first introduced in Warlords of Draenor, its completion was required to unlock flying in an expansion’s zones. However, in later patches, World of Warcraft removed the Pathfinder achievement requirement for flying in Warlords of Draenor and Legion zones.

Now, it seems World of Warcraft is doing the same for Battle for Azeroth. According to the recently-released notes for Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7, flying in Zandalar, Kul Tiras, Nazjatar, and Mechagon will no longer require the Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder achievement. Characters with the appropriate riding skill can freely fly in these zones once the patch arrives on March 21.

With this change, World of Warcraft players will be able to fly in almost every area without any extra steps. Flying in Shadowlands zones and in Zereth Mortis isn't unlocked automatically, but the requirements are simple, especially when compared to the Pathfinder achievements. As of this patch, the only zones World of Warcraft players can’t fly are old zones like Azuremyst Isle and Eversong Woods, and the Dragon Isles in Dragonflight, where players navigate using Dragonriding instead of traditional flying.
