Riverdale’s KJ Apa and1883’s Isabel May are joining the DC Universe as they are set as the leads for HBO Max’s Wonder Twins. While the DCEU is expanding on the big screen, Warner Bros. is also taking the opportunity of utilizing HBO Max for their DC content. Since the launch of the HBO-branded streaming service, the studio has slowly started to add projects that either tie into the cinematic universe or stand on their own.
One of the upcoming DC films that are in the works at HBO Max is Wonder Twins, taking the iconic Super-Friends heroes into the world of film. The DC siblings-starring movie was first announced back in February as Black Adam writer Adam Sztykiel is set to direct the HBO Max picture. He is also penning the script for the film, which will mark Sztykiel's directorial debut. While the Wonder Twins have been heavily featured in animation, this will be the first time they star in their own solo movie.

After only two months since being revealed to be in the works, Warner Bros. has found their Wonder Twins. Deadline reports that Riverdale star KJ Apa and 1883's Isabel May are set to play Zan and Jayna respectively. Zan has the ability to turn into water while Jayna can turn into any animal she wants, by the siblings fist-bumping and saying, «Wonder Twin Powers, Activate!» How the film will tackle their powers remains to be seen, but it seems to be part of this iteration.
While this will be Wonder Twins' first time enjoying the spotlight in a DC movie, it's not actually their live-action debut. During Smallville season 9, in the episode «Idol,» the Superman prequel series brought the siblings from panel to screen for the first time. 7th Heaven's David
