When Sony first launched the PlayStation 5, it did so with some big changes to the PlayStation Plus subscription service. It was then that Sony introduced the PS Plus Collection, a program that gets PS5 gamers instant access to some of the best games from the PlayStation 4 generation. Among these games was Persona 5, one of the highest-rated JRPGs ever made, and a game that's generally considered one of the best PS4 titles ever.
Persona 5's massive popularity made it a big «get» for the PS Plus Collection, but it will soon be leaving the lineup. Back when Sony announced the free PS Plus games for April 2022, it also confirmed that Persona 5 was leaving the PS Plus Collection. And unfortunately for fans that have yet to claimPersona 5 for their digital libraries, time is running out to snag it.
Former PS Plus Free Game Getting PS5 Upgrade
As previously announced by Sony, Persona 5 is leaving the PS Plus Collection on Wednesday, May 11. PS Plus subscribers interested in adding the game to their libraries should do so ASAP. Even after it's removed from the PS Plus Collection, subscribers will still have access to it for as long as they are subscribed to PlayStation Plus.
Persona 5 is the first game to be removed from the PS Plus Collection since the concept was introduced alongside the PS5 back in 2020. It's unclear if any other games will be leaving the PS Plus Collection in the near future, but there are some distinct possibilities. As some PlayStation gamers may know, the PS Plus Collection includes titles published by Activision, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and those two games are likely contenders for removal at some point down the line.
