The Wonder Twins movie has reportedly been canceled by Warner Bros. despite gearing up for a summer 2022 shoot and even naming the two leads who would play the DC duo.
The Wonder Twins movie was first announced earlier this year, with director Adam Sztykiel set to helm the project after previously helming Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam for Warner Bros. Since then, however, Warner Bros. has fallen under new management following the WarnerMedia and Discovery merger, and the Wonder Twins movie may have been impacted by the deal.

According to That Hashtag Show, the crew for the Wonder Twins movie was informed that the project was being scrapped early during the week of May 1. While there is no word on why the Wonder Twins movie was allegedly canceled, the outlet reminds readers that several WarnerMedia plans that were in motion before the Warner Bros-Discovery merger was finalized have been changed now that the company is under new management as Warner Bros. Discovery. It may be worth noting that neither Warner Bros. Pictures nor DC have officially confirmed the cancelation of the Wonder Twins movie.
If true, news of the Wonder Twins movie being axed comes roughly two months before the project was scheduled to begin production. KJ Apa and Isabel May had even been cast as Wonder Twins leads Zan and Jayna, respectively, as recently as mid-April. The project was going to be the first live-action feature film for the Wonder Twins, who as of now have only appeared in cartoons or in supporting roles on DC-based shows like Smallville.
Again, while Warner Bros. has yet to confirm the cancellation of the Wonder Twins movie, the news wouldn't be entirely surprising
