A Minecraft player's impressive fortress megabuild wouldn't look out of place in a Dark Souls game, and serves to show just what's possible when it comes to creating in the Mojang hit. The number of fan-made homages made throughout Minecraft’s lifecycle has practically eclipsed the game’s history, and thanks to consistent Minecraft updates and new content, there's no end to its creative possibilities.
Since its full official release in 2011, Minecraft has dominated the sandbox survival genre thanks to its playability and ease of use. While Minecraft offers several modes of play, the core of its gameplay revolves around players crafting whatever they are capable of and defending their creations from hostile creatures and players. Its unprecedented success has spawned merchandise, several clones, its convention, its own South Park episode, and even educational software. For over 20 years, Minecraft has hosted millions of would-be crafters and an equal number of user-generated creations. From Castlevania to Skyrim, to Super Mario, to Five Nights at Freddy's Minecraft recreations, if it ever existed, more than likely it's been made in the Minecraft world.

Reddit user Parking_Price6980 showed the progress on a new Minecraft megabuild that looks as though it's straight from a FromSoftware game. The build shows off a massive, intricately-crafted dark gothic cathedral which immediately drew praise from players. Fellow Reddit users were quick to marvel at the cathedral’s majesty, but also to compare it to the architecture seen in the Dark Souls games.
