A new Orphan Black sequel show is officially moving forward at AMC - and previous star Tatiana Maslany's involvement is still a possibility. Orphan Black was originally created in 2013 by showrunners Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, starring Tatiana Maslany as a group of clones fighting for their autonomy and survival. The show ran on BBC America until 2017, garnering critical acclaim and a formidable fan following. However, with Maslany's involvement in the upcoming She-Hulk MCU series, her involvement in future projects remains unclear.
Maslany's phenomenal acting was absolutely crucial to the success of the show, as she had to play a great variety of clones with extremely different personalities and shoot many scenes in which she was acting opposite only herself. Over the course of the series, Tatiana Maslany played 17 Orphan Black clones - also known as "Leda" clones. She was the heart of the show, and it is difficult to imagine a spin-off or sequel without her presence.

The new sequel series just brought Anna Fishko on to write and produce a show for AMC within the world of Orphan Black. Though the project was initially announced in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic caused significant delays for the series, as it did with many other productions. There has been no information released about the plot yet, but it will be interesting to see whether they create a whole new faction of clones or take a different approach using the fictional scientific advances of the Orphan Black world.
