The trailer stars the returning puppet mascot Coach in the newest advertisement for the game, promoting the Switch's portable capabilities, playing anywhere from a public bathroom to the moon.
In two minutes, Coach discusses the player's ability to stay on top of the game's updates and season progression with the Switch, as the system allows gamers to bring the game anywhere provided the player has access to an internet connection. MLB The Show 22 allows players to play in exhibition mode with one joy-con, allowing two players to compete against one another with one set of joy-cons, perfect for long road trips or family vacations.

The Road to the Show mode features an RPG-style experience where players can build up a roster of customized players and play through a season while collecting various baseball legends and other content to add to their teams. Diamond Dynasty also makes its return to MLB The Show 22 with another year of card-collecting fun, featuring a new Mini Series mode, where players can take on new challenges every season. Switch players will also have the ability to play the game against PlayStation and Xbox users as the title promises to be cross-platform.
