Wordle is now celebrated by Google! The popular word guessing game now owned by The New York Times is currently all the rage among people around the world. Every day, you get to guess a new word and you have limited chances to get it right. Scoring the best score is flaunt-worthy, which is why you see lots of people sharing their Wordle scores on Twitter and other social media channels. And now, Google is also doing something similar.
Not exactly the same, as Google Search is essentially a set of complex computer algorithms whose sole purpose is to come up with answers to your weird and wacky queries. But those running this mega encyclopedia now want to celebrate this mega hype. And the way Google does it is by commissioning tasteful and fun doodles. Wordle has now got its own doodle on Google Search and it certainly helps to set up the mood.
The Wordle Google Doodle is visible on Google Search when you simply search for the query “Wordle”. Clicking on the doodle does not do anything; all that happens is it opens another blank Google Search page.
Would it have been cooler for Google to join hands with Wordle and provide a link to the game? Yes. However, Wordle still remains the top search query on Google despite several clones trying to monetise on the situation.
Wordle has been around for a few months now and was created by Josh Wardle as a simple word game for his wife Palak Shah. The game was originally meant to be the couple’s fun time-pass activity but ended up becoming everyone’s favourite overnight. The game was largely managed by Wardle himself until The New York Times bought it earlier this year. The game still remains free to play and keeps offering new words to guess every day.
