Gorr the God butcher, the villain of Thor: Love and Thunder, threatens the future of Asgard's current monarch, Valkyrie. The direct and indirect repercussions of the vowed God killer's actions throughout this installment will determine who ends up on the throne of Asgard going forward in the MCU. Valkyrie's reign, which began with her appointment by Thor as ruler of New Asgard at the end of Avengers: Endgame, could end earlier than expected.
In Marvel Comics, Gorr the God Butcher has access to time travel through the use of the Pool of Forevers, a device created by the Time Gods of Chronux that uses their blood to traverse the timestream. Using this device to enact their plan to exterminate all gods throughout the entirety of the timestream is almost achieved, until they're defeated by the combined might of three versions of Thor, with Gorr being killed by a younger Thor. This trio was comprised of Thor the Avenger, Young Thor, and All-Father Thor, the latter being the King of Asgard. With Jane Foster taking up the mantle of the Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, they could assume the same role as Young Thor. The only alternate version to complete this trio would be All-Father Thor.

All-Father Thor was key to defeating Gorr the God Butcher in the comics. This version of Thor could appear in Thor: Love and Thunder to lend a hand in taking down Gorr, which has been made entirely possible with the recent introductions of time travel and the multiverse in the MCU.
