The season 1 finale of Peacemaker includes a surprising cameo appearance by the Justice League, but the DCEU’s greatest superhero team is missing two key members. Picking up where 2021’s The Suicide Squad left off, Peacemaker follows Christopher Smith on another clandestine mission that would reasonably warrant the attention of the Justice League. The team appears towards the end of the show’s first season finale, but two of the six Justice League members, Cyborg and Batman, are curiously missing.
James Gunn gave the DCEU its first canonical television series in Peacemaker, and the comedic show frequently acknowledges the larger universe it inhabits. Peacemaker also expands the DCEU, canonizing classic DC Comics characters like Bat-Mite, Matter-Eater Lad, and now even Green Arrow, giving the often dark and dramatic continuity some of DC’s goofier characters from the comics’ storied history. After the threats of both Starro the Conqueror and the Butterflies are neutralized, James Gunn finally gives the Justice League a brief, albeit incomplete cameo.

Shortly after killing the “Cow” alien species and foiling the Butterflies’ plot to control the course of human history, Peacemaker and the rest of the 11th Street Kids (a Task Force X offshoot) encounter the Justice League, who arrived too late to help. The League’s cameo lineup includes Aquaman and The Flash, played by Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller, respectively, but Wonder Woman and Superman are played by unknown actors and kept in the shadows. With this in mind, it’s odd that Batman and Cyborg, who wouldn’t necessarily need to be played by Ben Affleck and Ray Fisher, were absent from the cameo.
