The Batman star Robert Pattinson has revealed how filming the superhero movie was a very isolating experience for him. London-born Pattinson, who rose to global prominence playing the role of Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise, took over the role of The Great Detective from The Town actor Ben Affleck, who hung up his cape following the completion of the movie Justice League in 2017. After Affleck's departure, multiple actors were considered for the part, including Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, before Pattinson was eventually cast for The Batman.
Unlike previous iterations of Batman, the film will not serve as an origin story, and will instead focus on the already established Batman in his second year of fighting crime in Gotham. The storyline looks to focus more on the character's role as a detective as he pursues a serial killer known only as the Riddler, who targets Gotham's elite. Believed to have a more somber tone and more violent content than previous films in the franchise, The Batman will focus on Bruce Wayne as a dark and tortured man living on the edge, a far cry from the playboy billionaire depicted in earlier interpretations.

The 35-year-old also spoke about the insular and isolating nature of the shoot, and how he felt "very much alone" during the filming process. Check
