The Batman is pitting the Dark Knight against a variety of foes, and Robert Pattinson’s dream villains for The Batman 2 hints that the first movie could already be setting them up. While doing publicity for The Batman, Robert Pattinson has stated he'd love to fight the Court of Owls in The Batman 2. While the primary villain for The Batman is Paul Dano's Riddler, there is evidence to show that the Court of Owls is waiting in the wings.
The Court of Owls is a relatively new adversary for Batman, introduced in 2011's New 52 Batman comics. The malicious secret cabal is comprised of Gotham's wealthy elite, who seek to control the city through corruption and murder. They have an army of assassins called Talons that are seemingly unkillable and have proven to be ruthless against the Dark Knight. The Court of Owls has a darkness about them, something Robert Pattinson feels would suit The Batman 2, saying, “There are elements of The Batman which are kind of horror and I think it really feels quite new for Batman.”

While the Court of Owls has appeared in the TV show Gotham and the animated film Batman vs. Robin, they've yet to make their live-action movie debut. Robert Pattinson's desire to see the secret society in The Batman 2 though adds weight to the fan theory that suggests that they will show up in some form in The Batman. There is already some evidence that supports the theory, with hints of the Court of Owls in the marketing. In the first trailer, the Riddler leaves a card for Batman at a crime scene with an owl on the front. In addition to this, the design of Robert Pattinson's Batman suit has gauntlets that are strikingly similar to those worn by the Talons.
