The second game in Square Enix's new Final Fantasy 7 trilogy, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has been out for just over a week on PS5 — and we want to know what you make of this highly praised sequel. At the time of writing, Rebirth is one of the highest rated Final Fantasy titles ever released (according to critics), so we're super interested in seeing how it ranks in our own games database.
We awarded the RPG a 'great' 8/10 in our Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS5 review (the same score we gave Final Fantasy 7 Remake, for the record). «If you can push through the tedium of its open world busywork and padded storytelling, there's a great sequel at the heart of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,» we wrote. «If you enjoyed Remake and you have fond memories of the PS1 original, you'll likely love every minute of Rebirth's memorable, character-focused adventure.»

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.
Absolutely outstanding game that expands and improves on its predecessor in every way. With all due respect to Elden Ring and BG3 (not really my genres of choice), this is my game of the generation so far.
It's good but not as good as the first entry.
Many of those that have played the game have already agree on that fact.
That sentiment also reflects on the disappointing game sales in comparison.
Had to go for 8 myself.
After 60 hours, it feels not much general story, and you were correct with the padding; though a good chunk of it does allow better
