TikTok is where many of the internet's biggest trends and memes are created, including the viral brownie recipe that keeps appearing in TikTok video comments. Trying to keep up with every viral trend/challenge/meme on social media is all but impossible now. Right as something is going viral, there's another big thing right behind it, followed by something else, and the cycle keeps repeating. This is true of all social media apps, but it's especially common on TikTok.
Thanks to its growing user base and excellent content algorithms, it doesn't take much for something to go viral on TikTok. That's great if you're always looking for something new to watch, but it also means there's an enormous amount of content to sift through. In March 2022, TikTok's «look at this distinguished gentleman» trend became so popular that Jason Voorhees himself (actor Kane Hodder) got involved with it. We've also seen TikTok users invert their faces for the Deja Vu Challenge, upload dancing videos for the Too Loud Challenge, and a whole lot more.

As of late March, it seems another trend has gone viral on TikTok. But it's not a new dance or challenge. Instead, users keep seeing the same comment for a brownie recipe on all sorts of videos. If you look at the comments on any TikTok video, chances are you'll see the following comments: «Anyways here's the recipe for brownies: 1/2 cup butter, 2 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1/2 cup flour.» And that's it. There's no other context for the comment — just a random brownie recipe and nothing more.
