Gamers have been customizing their consoles for years. This includes custom faceplates for the PS5 and paint jobs on consoles. One gamer decided to make their own custom console out of a Nintendo DS and then added a Pokemon spin to it.
Game Boy Macros are Nintendo DS handhelds that have been modified into Game Boy Advances. This is done by removing the top half of the handheld, leaving the bottom screen and the buttons. This is often done with damaged Nintendo DS systems in which the top half has been broken in some way. Since the top half of a Nintendo DS is very prone to damage, it is often times a burden to repair them. Game Boy Macros are often customized after being transformed, creating unique handhelds with a lot of character.

A gamer going by the handle Ds_macro_skull has made a Game Boy Macro and the added a fan favorite Pokemon to the front of it. The modder added a decal of the Pokemon Gengar to their machine, creating a unique Game Boy Advance that any Pokemon fan would love.
Ds_macro_skull added a clear faceplate to the Game Boy Macro, which included clear face buttons. They then added a Gengar decal that takes up much of the handheld's front plate, with the decal featuring the wide and threatening smile that the pocket monster is famous for. According to Ds_macro_skull the decal was custom-made for the Game Boy Macro. It is a great fan project that resulted in a nice looking handheld that is a great tribute to Pokemon.
